Hikvision are undoubtedly the leading brand when it comes to the current CCTV surveillance market! With constantly updating products and bringing out new product ranges, it can be hard to keep up. But their PoC range is one you can definitely benefit from!
What is PoC (Power Over Coax)?
Hikvision POC technology enables users to power cameras via the DVR using a single coaxial video cable (RG59 or similar), transmitting both data and power between cameras and video recorders, eliminating the requirement for additional cables and power supplies which would otherwise be needed to power cameras. PoC systems offer a plug and play solution, elimating the need for additional "prep" work, resulting in a more cost efficient, often quicker installation.
PoC cameras can also work on standard, non PoC recorders.
- PoC cameras can also work on standard, non PoC TVI recorder, by powering locally through a seperate power supply
- All non PoC cameras can work on a PoC capable DVR as the camera is powered via a separate power supply and PoC will only transmit when requested to by a compatible camera
- PoC transmission must be used through RG59 coaxial or similar cable, it will not pass through CAT5/6 or baluns
